The Revolutionary Left Party in Syria mourns to the masses of our people, and to the national and democratic opposition forces, the passing of the political activist Hassan Abdul Azim, who passed away after a long journey filled with political and intellectual activity.
The deceased was a key figure in Syrian opposition political work. His name was associated with multiple stages of the peaceful struggle for democratic change, maintaining his presence inside the country and contributing to the formulation of political positions that represented an opposition trend committed to political action and the rejection of tyranny, while emphasizing national solutions.
We, in the Revolutionary Left Party in Syria, extend our deepest condolences to his family, his comrades, and all who knew him. We emphasize that his passing comes at a moment when Syria is still in dire need of a national democratic struggle that restores the people’s rights to freedom, justice, and dignity.
The memory of the deceased remains part of the history of the Syrian political movement, which still faces immense tasks in confronting tyranny and dependency, and in building a national democratic alternative that reflects the interests of the popular classes.
Mercy to the deceased, condolences to his family and comrades. The struggle continues.
