Statement of the Revolutionary Left Party in Syria on the US-Israeli Aggression against Iran

No to Imperialist War on Iran: With the Peoples Against Imperialism, Zionism, and Despotism

The Revolutionary Left Party in Syria condemns the recent military escalation led by global imperialism against Iran, represented by the United States and its ally Israel. We consider it part of a brutal policy of hegemony that primarily targets the freedom of peoples and the independence of states. This imperialist war confirms once again that force is used by imperialist powers only to impose external influence and protect the interests of imperialist capitalism, at the expense of the lives and security of innocent civilians.

Imperialist wars do not generate freedom, nor do they eliminate oppression; rather, they multiply suffering, increase despotism, and deepen dependency. Any attempt to convince peoples that external imperialist aggression is in their interest is a great delusion. Imperialist interests are the complete opposite of the peoples’ interests. While we reject this aggression, we emphasize that our opposition to the imperialist war machine does not, in any way, mean aligning with the Iranian regime, which practices the most heinous types of class and political oppression against workers, women, and minorities in Iran, and plays a destructive role against the aspirations of the region’s peoples for liberation.

No imperialist military intervention through force and terror has ever liberated a people; instead, it has always exacerbated the burden of death and destruction. This aggression aims to undermine the possibilities for the self-liberation of the Iranian people. Imperialist wars are the other face of regime despotism; both feed off each other to abort mass revolutionary movements.

In contrast, peoples have the absolute right to defend themselves and their sovereignty, and to reject any external threat under the pretext of security or regional stability. At the same time, peoples have the full right to self-determination by standing up to both internal and external despotism and hegemony.

Furthermore, this imperialist war on Iran comes in the context of the US attempt to stop the decline of its global hegemony in the face of China’s rising influence. It also seeks to consolidate a regional landscape that shifts the balance of power in favor of Israel and America at the expense of other major and regional powers active in the region.

From this standpoint, our party declares:

• Rejection of any imperialist intervention or support for any aggression under any pretext, whether “security” or “democracy,” and refusal to be drawn into the claims of major imperialist powers.
• Affirmation of respect for the full right of peoples to freedom and self-determination without dictation from anyone.
• The importance of popular political organization as a basis for resisting all forms of oppression, despotism, and occupation, away from any external interference.
• We call upon the global working class and leftist movements to organize protests to paralyze the imperialist war machine.

The path to freedom and justice is not built with bombs or threats, but through popular consciousness, mass organization, and continuous sacrifice. True solidarity with oppressed peoples means supporting their independent resistance, protecting their rights, and working to build a free and just future, devoid of hegemony, oppression, despotism, exploitation, and occupation.

Glory to the struggling peoples, and freedom to all who resist despotism and occupation. Down with imperialist wars. Long live the resistance of the peoples. All power and wealth to the people.
