Lebanese army intelligence leads racist campaigns on Syrian tents

Lebanese army intelligence raided today on 17/4/2024 at 2 am camps for Syrian refugees in the Bekaa region, destroyed the tents, displaced families, arrested hundreds, and their fate is still unknown until the moment of preparing the news.

The raids focused on the Bar Elias 024 camp known as Ziad’s camp, and the Marj 003 camp known as Rajab’s camp, the raids witnessed the destruction of all tents and the confiscation of what can be confiscated from contents, and the families spent their night in the streets (and are still displaced until the preparation of the news).

The arrests focused on the Bar Elias “Ziad” camp where all the men present were arrested (and their fate is still unknown), and there are serious fears of deporting all the detainees to Syria and handing them over to the Syrian regime’s apparatuses.

This racist campaign against Syrian workers is being waged by the Lebanese state with the support of the right-wing parties” Lebanese Forces and the Kataeb party. Which recently escalated its racist attacks against Syrian workers, which caused yesterday the death of a Syrian worker, “Ali Walid Abdel Baqi,” under torture by racist gangs. It seems from the repetition of this barbarism every year at the same time that this campaign is part of Lebanon’s preparations (for the Brussels Conference of international donors – Syrian refugees), and the Lebanese state seeks to increase its share of looting stocks in the name of Syrians through the barbaric escalation against them to increase its anticipated glut.
