– The democratic union party and the revolutionary left in Syrian announce written agreement that aims at enhancing their collaborative working relation and standing up to common challenges.
– On Sunday July 24th, The democratic union party and the revolutionary left in syria signed an agreement at the former’s main office in the city if kameshlo, preceded by talks the two parties conducted, in effort to enhance common working channels and to prepare to face upcoming common challenges.
– Hereby, the written agreement was signed by the co-president of the democratic union party Saleh muslim, and the general secretary of the revolutionary left in Syria ghayyas neayysi, in the presence of the PYD co-president Asia Abdullah, the PYD spokesperson Sami backdash, the co-president of the PYD relation office Arifa bakr, and Mazloum Khalil
– This written agreement is resultant of common views and goals insuring the rights of people in the region, an agreement on the socio economical struggle, and enhancing collaborative efforts among all loyal democratic and leftist forces, aiming at rendering Syrians of all ideologies and ethnicities capable of self determination, and free in constructing their own future destiny. This entails an end to the costly war among the ruling forces, and a recovery of the country’s unity under a decentralized democratic system, in hopes of ridding syria of all occupations, tyrannies, and any form of exploitation; insuring the punishment of war criminals and the return of all refugees and uncovering the status of political prisoners.
The document included a set of understandings agreed upon by the Democratic Union Party and the Revolutionary Left, which stated:
The current situation and upcoming challenges in the context of our democratic and social struggle require mobilizing our forces and raising the level of our joint coordination, with all loyal democratic and leftist forces, so that the Syrians, regardless of their ethnic or ideological affiliation, can regain their adherence to their destiny and decide their future freely, to build a better future and to achieve the restoration of the country’s unity , on the basis of a decentralized democratic system and the sovereignty of the people, to get rid of occupation, tutelage, tyranny and exploitation, stop the destructive war between the hegemonic forces that Syrians pay for, resolve humanitarian issues related to the return of refugees and displaced persons, release detainees, and evacuate the fate of the kidnapped. Through transitional justice to hold perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity accountable.
Doing everything necessary to achieve a real and deep democratic transition that leads to the establishment of a pluralistic, democratic, decentralized system that respects human rights, individual and collective freedoms, partisan and political pluralism, and adopts the separation of religion from the state and achieves equality and social justice. The two organizations adopt the two documents issued by the Third Syrian-Syrian Dialogue Forum in Kobani on March 29, 2019, which include (the constitutional issue and supra-constitutional principles) and (the road map for democratic transition) as the ground and the political framework on which they agree, and these two documents form an integral part of the memorandum of understanding between the two organizations.
▪️ During the signing of the document, Dr. (Ghiyath Naisa) confirmed that there is still an important democratic force in the Syrian situation that bears its responsibility in this difficult moment, and raises the interests of the Syrian people in the regions highly, and added:
▪️ Our signing of a memorandum of agreement in the areas of the Autonomous Administration is a message that the Syrian democratic and humanitarian force considers the Autonomous Administration a fulcrum for the required political transformation in Syria, and for the reconfiguration of the country.
On his part, the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (Saleh Muslim) said: We hope that this rapprochement will be a successful step. This understanding came thanks to the blood of the martyrs.
▪️ (Saleh Muslim) added: Our signature of this memorandum is the cornerstone to include all political parties and all parties to coordinate and work in order to consolidate, develop and generalize the experience of democratic self-management, as it is a model for the coming decentralized Syria.
