Syrian workers unite and organize

Despite the tragic situation of our country, the Revolutionary Left movement in Syria extends greetings and congratulations to our working class, artisans and all toilers, in all regions of their presence, on the occasion of the 136th anniversary of International Workers ‘ Day, which commemorates every year the struggle of workers in the face of the global capitalist system responsible for wars, devastation, exploitation and permanent crises.

The workers, the working people and the marginalized formed the social forces driving the Syrian Revolution in 2011, and therefore the regime of the junta and all the forces of the counter-revolution paid the most expensive prices and were subjected to the most terrible types of extermination and displacement.

While we are fully aware in the Revolutionary Left current of the magnitude of the great suffering of our working class and other toilers as a result of the situation after the defeat of the revolution, and the political and repressive arbitrariness, tyranny, exploitation, impoverishment and starvation of the country by the regime of the junta and its bourgeois class of warlords and plunderers, this Syrian bourgeoisie is no longer only subordinate to the power, but has become its main advantage that it derives its existence and activity from the war economy.

This structural transformation applies to her, in one form or another, in all places of her existence.  It is a class that is intent on imposing a coercive reality and pursuing a policy of starvation, impoverishment, looting and repression for the working class and the toilers, and for all Syrians. Its only concern, in the regime’s areas, is to stay in power and remain in power by relying on the rest of the reactionary regimes in the region and regionally, and even from some imperialist countries, where the junta regime offered to sell and rent most of the country’s economic capabilities, begging for its support to continue to rule.

Therefore, the war bourgeoisie and its authorities have no interest in achieving peace, or making political concessions, nor in the end of the wars, because the latter form the basis for increasing their wealth at the expense of the life and dignity of the majority of Syrians.  

Today, the vast majority of the Syrian people have turned either into a cheap labor force inside the country, and even outside it, being exploited in the most terrible ways, or into an unemployed labor force.
The working class, all the working people and the marginalized, will become the main class in any liberation project of the Syrian people, and because it is the bearer of all the grievances that Syrians have been subjected to, it is the only one qualified to lead the liberation of Syrians and the reconstruction of the Syrian nation.

On the way to this, the workers and toilers need to organize themselves, their trade union, community and political associations, and work on all direct and public demands, because one of the conditions for success in achieving this is the existence of an organized and conscious working class.

The working class and all the working people, the oppressed and the marginalized, in turn, urgently need a political party that will close ranks, carry the memory of the liberation struggle, and draw up strategies for the workers ‘ struggle.

 We are in the party of the Revolutionary Left current, which was in the midst of the revolution in 2011, congratulating our working class on its holiday, inviting them to follow the activities and literature of the current and its newspaper “front line” and join our party, the party of the working class, the toilers and the oppressed, the party of internationalism and socialism.
