In a new escalatory step reflecting the aggressive military nature of the ruling regime, the city of Aleppo witnessed today a violent round of clashes and artillery shelling targeting the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and the Al-Layramoun industrial zone. This escalation, in which the regime deployed heavy weaponry within the urban fabric, has placed the lives of thousands of civilians and laborers in the line of fire, turning industrial and residential areas into an open battlefield.
Militarizing Production: From Factories to Barracks Cross-referenced field reports indicate that the “Regime’s Army” paved the way for this aggression through arbitrary measures targeting the productive infrastructure in Al-Layramoun. At the “Alam al-Qutn” checkpoint, factory owners and workers were forced to evacuate their facilities under the pretext of road closures, only for these abandoned factories to be later converted into fortified military outposts.
Shelling from Within: Holding the City Hostage The security apparatus did not stop at mobilizing forces in the “Hananu Barracks”; they converted former administrative and security buildings within residential blocks into launch pads for artillery shells. This military tactic reflects a total disregard for civilian lives.
Popular Resistance Against “Naked Force” Despite the intensity of fire, the attacking forces failed to achieve any tangible field progress. Leaked footage from the besieged neighborhoods shows remarkable grassroots steadfastness, as residents confront the killing machine with solid will despite the blockade.
Political Vision: Defending Dignity and the Right to Exist The Revolutionary Left Party in Syria reaffirms its principled and full solidarity with the masses of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh in their legitimate defense of their existence. We see this battle as a continuation of the Syrian people’s struggle against tyranny in all its forms.
Shame to the killers… Glory to the popular resistance.
